Last night I had the opportunity to attend a Pre-New Year’s Eve Fashion & Beauty Bash hosted by blogger Curly Lexi from Curls Coils and Kinks and stylist and makeup artist Danielle from The Style & Beauty Doctor. The event took place in Atlanta at Sole Shoes where attendees were able to shop, mingle, and discuss natural hair.
Throughout the event they had many beauty stations including an eyelash bar where they had two professionals putting on individual eyelashes for $25, and a lipstick bar where you could try on different shades of lipstick of your choice and take with you. The night also included three fashion shows with models wearing clothing from the store itself and many raffles with cool beauty prizes.
I didn’t leave empty handed I was given a goody bag filled with some great smell goods. Take a look at the pictures below.
Love stories are not good for my timekeeping. After working on my website, I have watched many of my sister’s DVDs, in which she has. The one I watched yesterday was called The Painted Veil. It’s a based on a novel of the same named by W.Somerset Maugham. It centres around a British married couple, Walter (Edward Norton) and Kitty (Naomi Watts). They move to China in the 1920s so he can do his work there. She has a devastating affair with Charlie Townsend (Liev Schreiber, & Watts’ real-life husband) and to punish her, he takes her to this cholera-ridden area in China where people are dying horrifically.
Review
It’s a beautiful film, I cannot stress that enough. I have not seen a film in a long time that has made me want to actually go out and write. I honestly suggest anyone to watch it, it is quite amazing. I had no idea that Edward Norton [1] was such a beast of an actor. He is absoluty incredible. At any rate, the film is really about punishment, and a husband whose pain over his wife’s adultery has made him want to consistently hurt her.
I think this theme of punishment is so raw and so real. When someone hurts you, especially if it is someone you love, would you resort to punishing them emotionally for it? It is such a literary, layered emotion – punishment, because you hope for redepemtion and love for the person who is being punished.
Do you think keeping someone in emotional jail for breaking your heart is fair, and is it just a natural reaction?

[1] I think Edward Norton is basically one of the only American actors who can sound 100 per cent English without even an undercurrent of his original accent. Never knew he was such a good actor. Don’t sleep on this film – it’s fire.

I was on Nu-Kynk and learned about this beautiful black male model called Shaun Ross. He’s fire and so is Diandra, the female black model in this shoot too.
Karel McIntosh is the brain behind Caribbean Public Relations. I just discovered this blog today and it gives an insight into PR in the Caribbean. So refreshing to hear a black woman’s voice about the communications industry.
Karel judged who the Caribbean stars were by how many Twitter followers they had.

Interestingly, all of the Twitter top five are music stars. This is definitely a sign that social media + music mix. I am not big on Twitter, having tried to get into it, but I know I have to try once more and give it a go.

Just watched 3×03 again, the episode with Roger’s nonsense blackface. I realised something. That man who was with a date fancies Betty hard.
Do any Mad Men fans in the US know if this attraction will go further? I just need to know because judging from the episode at the garden party, Betty fancies the man as well.
