I watched Law & Order [1] tonight. The episode was called Shadow. Michael K. Williams had a small part, barely for one scene. He asks Abbie Carmichael:
Why don’t you take off your jacket
She responds with:
It’s chilly
It’s a chunky scene, imbued with this glow of rock solid sensuality from his character’s part, as he lights his cigarette when he speaks to her. He is a prisoner, from this exchange we see that his sexual antenna is alert when around the company of women. The way Williams played it was genius. He added the right amount of charged masculinity in such a small role.
I think when you can stand out in a small part, you must have something memorable about you. L&O is also one of those shows where it is generally diffiult to remember guest stars simply because the main cast is so ubiquitous in setting the bar for acting in procedural drama. But Williams made me think twice and that shows something as I am a L&O freak.
This guy has something about him. He is magnetic to watch. And I don’t think his razor-sharp non-conventional looks have anything to do with it. Am I the only one getting old-school Denzel vibes in terms of his charisma from him?
Let me know what you think.

Notes
[1] – I also watched the final episode of the first series of the UK Law & Order. Absolutely brilliant episode.
I adore Michael K. Williams. I wish I’d known he was going to be on TV. He is so talented and has a strong presence. Definitely a scene stealer.
OMG, you do not even understand the big crush I have on this man. He’s sexy.
Aulelia,
“Omar” def has IT. He was amazing on The Wire. His character was so complicated, something you rarely see for a Black male character, especially one who is a criminal.
@Monie, exactly what you said. I don’t know exactly what that IT factor is, but he has in spades and more spades. He is very charismatic.
I love him! And I find him so hot too. Could be those East African looks. He looks Sudanese.
